Are technology commercials clichéd?

I happened to see a video posted by the YouTube channel College Humour, where they highlighted how most ads of technology companies or products have become predictable and monotonous. This was posted in September 2013.

It was quite funny, so I later searched for actual technology ads and found one by Microsoft posted in Feb 2014. As a stand alone ad it definitely is good and the focus on the topic of empowerment is well thought of. But the overall content is still as shown above !!!
